Troubleshooting: Classroom Control Panels

This setup has a white control panel. The control panel is usually installed on the wall but it may be installed on the top of the smartcart or podium instead. The control panel controls the power to the projector, the input to the projector, and the volume.



Common Issues:

  1. There is a blank screen:

    • Check the input. This is because the projector is not receiving an image from the selected input. Usually the wrong input is selected.

    • Check to see if the PC is turned on. If the PC is on please try restarting the PC. You can restart the PC by pressing and holding the power button for 12 Seconds. The PC will fully shut down, press the power button again to start the PC

  2. The sound is not working.

    • Press the bottom right button on the wall panel to increase the sound. If the volume is turned up and there is still an issue, the issue may be with with audio output from the computer. Check to see if the sound is muted on the PC. If the sound horn in the bottom right corner of the screen has a “X” to the right of it, that means the sound is muted on the PC.

  3. Projector is not showing the same screen as the monitor, but it is showing a desktop

    • This is usually caused by the display settings being set to Extend instead of Duplicate. Press the “Windows” key and the “P” key at the same time to display the project menu. Then select “Duplicate”.

Initial Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check to see if the system is on.

    • Press the “On” button on the wall panel. This is the top left button.

    • To turn the system off by pressing the “Off” button. This is to top right button.

  2. Check to see if the correct input is selected, Room PC or the Laptop input.

    • Press the Room PC button to select the Room PC input. This is the second button from the top on the left.

    • Press the Laptop button to select the Laptop input. This is the second button from the top on the right.

  3. Check to see if the PC is powered on

    • Check to see if the power button is lit. If PC will not turn on check to see if the power cable is connected

  4. Check the cables

    • Check to see if there are any loose or unplugged cables.

  5. Check the Project menu

    • Press the “Windows” button and “P” button

    • Select “Duplicate”
